Meth Labs of Democracy - Don't Mess with Sexes - While the majority of the U.S. has endorsed same-sex marriage, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas are committed to denying the LGBT community equality at every turn. (8:26)
Status: Marriage equality (equal rights for everyone regardless of sexual orientation) is spreading like wild fire;
Here Jon Stewart is referring to the main reason for opposing gay marriage by the conservative movement (which truly is very very conservative if you think about it, I mean to want to return to the days of the Old Testament! They have a long way to go, but I'm sure they'll get there);
Interestingly enough, there is a backlash by conservatives who feel discriminated against in thier majority white and majority Christian country (which is even more so outside the cities... fear induced paranoia by Fox News?)
Above Jon Stewart points out the idiosyncrasies of the desire to ban gayism while not caring about anything else from which that law comes from. Sure, there is allot of slavery on the New Testament but being against gays is purely an Old Testament thing. Here are some verses not yet being followed;
Deuteronomy 22:11 Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.
Leviticus 19:19 "'Keep my decrees. "'Do not mate different kinds of animals. "'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. "'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
Leviticus 19:27 “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
Leviticus 5:2 "'Or if a person touches anything ceremonially unclean--whether the carcasses of unclean wild animals or of unclean livestock or of unclean creatures that move along the ground--even though he is unaware of it, he has become unclean and is guilty
Leviticus 11:7 And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.
Leviticus 11:9 "'Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales.
Deuteronomy 22:9 Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled
This one WAS being followed ... AND the South fought tooth and nail over it... but the damn Feds won and the South lost their Bionically endorsed slaves;
(Huckabee is working on bring back Christianity in full as he has been commanded to by the Bible, so Oklahoma may not have long to wait for a return to Biblical Bliss)
IN any case, the courts have decided (based in part on the crazy but enlightening dissension by the Rush Limbaugh - conspiracy theorist - conservative in the Supreme Court, Scalia ) that the State doesn't have the right to discriminate against people based on who they like. (kinda makes sense, can you imagine hiring someone then asking them to be mean to certain groups of people? They would be totally stressed out).
Now Stewart turns his attention to Oklahoma;
But Oklahoma, in fear induced madness by the Fox News & GOP Traitors (lovingly referred to as Traitor Inc.) has led the fear crazed law makers to attack the ancient patriarchal custom of marriage altogether!
Jon Stewart illustrates Oklahoma's last stand on marriage;
SO now nobody in Oklahoma can be legally married anymore...
A new bill!;
lol! The perfect example of how fear can kill the ability of people to think. The Founding Fathers separated Church & State for a reason. Here we are returning to pre-Constitutional living.
Now THAT is truly conservative. A liberal would want to move forward (as most of America is) but a conservative wants to keep things the same (thus "conservative)... except for Oklahoma. Here we are so conservative that we are moving back in time like the Amish.
Don't mind me. It just occurred to me a few days ago that the Founding Fathers were blazing liberals given thier forward looking Constitution and desire to change things and become independent. Conservatives of that time sided with the British and conservative of this time side with the Oligarchy of Plutarchs. Times really never change do they? Even our lack of offense at Israel's apartheid and Palestinian oppression greatly resembles what we did to the Native Americans. Do we not see in the Israel's apartheid a longing for a return to what we truly are? Genocidal maniacs. Oh! Those were the days! That's OK. We can just live precariously through Israel (our true kin according to the Bible).
The move from civil institutions to religious ones is that same as reversing the separation between Church & State, i.e. it's EXACTLY like Sharia law. If you really want to go all Old Testament & Christian on our Constitution I suggest you bring back stoning (we're just a step away from it anyways).
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)
Huckabee & The GOP Are Pushing Biblical Law For Gays & Women, Despite It's Low Approval Ratings, Because They Are Commanded To Do So (How Noble Of Them! *sniff*)
