Information/Press 3 - The GOP / Fox News Fake Conservative Echo Chamber

I call the GOP & Fox News "fake conservatives" cause their primary mode of interaction with public is through lies. Since no particular group of people like lies there had to be an explanation for why the GOP are so effective in their misinformation & propaganda campaigns. Turns out the answer is simple. They just bought everything (or almost everything). The GOP & Fox News can never win a free speech battle thus they need to corner the information market. Recent history shows this to be the case.

What is an echo chamber?

An echo chamber is when you control several sources of information and use those sources of information to spread news and rumors that suit your political and business agenda. i.e. people who watch the news get false information so their opinions of politics of the day is often colored by lies... if you clear up the mis truths, bad reporting and outright lies, public opinion will probably change as well.

An echo chamber is created to make it as difficult as possible to keep public opinion informed so it can make useful decisions based on truthful AND complete information.

Note: The word Conservative in the title is hyphenated because although the GOP & Fox News calls themselves conservatives, actual conservatives prefer truth to lies.

The GOP/Fox News/ "Conservative Echo Chamber In The News

Bogus story exposes risks of conservative ‘invented news’ - Rachel Maddow shows the right-wing hypocrisy on prostitution scandals when the political advantage is in their favor, and points out the danger of the conservative movement’s preference of their own version of news instead of real news.

This creation & propagation of fake news works so well that GOP politicians can contradict themselves and get away with it on a regular basis because they either own the media channel or scare the reporter into submission. You can ask anyone what John McCain's position is and they will tell you what they say on TV... if the reporter also mentions that John MCain ALSO changes his mind frequently for political reasons and lists a few of them EVERYTIME John McCain comes up then people will remember more about him and the media can be said to be doing it's job spreading relevant and contextual information to the public i.e. a public service (which goes against the very principle of modern corporate money making ideals which all main media channels are a part of). The number of reporters keeping track of the news are so few that they get drowned out with mainstream channels like CNN or Fox News. Actually, Fox News is the highest rated news channel on cable so it is THE mainstream media channel, so they spread of misinformation to the general public - i.e. a public dis-service - can often be traced to Fox News and from them to talk radio.

Senator on right's rush to bash American POW: 'Chill out'
Senator Chris Murphy talks with Rachel Maddow about the video that compelled the Obama administration to negotiate a deal for the release of American POW Bowe Bergdahl, and the rush to judgment by Obama opponents of Bergdahl and his family.

Echo Chambers Successfully Exposed By The Colbert Report & The Daily Show

A perfect example of manipulating/creating public opinion by news media using false news...

Here is the perfect example that shows an echo chamber being used for political goals
The train of planting News in the above echo chamber goes as follows - First story in the Wall Street Journal (owned by Rupert Murdoch), Second Story in the NY Post (owned by Rupert Murdoch) and finally, news story on Fox News (owned by Rupert Murdoch) - Seems like different news sources commenting on a story but in reality it's ONE news story, created and promoted by the SAME news source.
Note: This one shows that in any particular circumstance the whole media (MSNBC, CNN & FOXNEWS) can function as a GOP/Fox News/ "Conservative" echo chamber. There are a few exceptions though.
