How To Get Away With Widespread Election Interference...Again! | Full Frontal on TBS
Turns out the Russians interfered with the 2016 election! And they would have gotten away with it too, if not for the tough, unwavering stance of our fearless leader--wait, what’s that? They totally got away with it and are about to do it again? Jinkies!

Highlights:

The security for elections in electronic voting areas are woefully inadequate;

Even the few people concerned with election security in the current GOP administration know they have to hide their concern for the safety of American elections from Trump;

Mitch decided to go the other way and just help Trump by making the elections as unsecured as possible to give Russia as much of an opportunity to reelect Trump as possible;

In depth;

Mitch McConnell is blocking legislation to secure the election system despite the fact that there is a real problem of hacking in our elections. So, the question arises, 'Is Mitch Mcconnels complete disregard for any additional election safety measure given the increased threat from foreign interference a political stance or something he is doing for Trump so he can get the bills etc. he wants passed?'

Washington Post: Why is Mitch McConnell blocking election security bills? Good question.
Extract 1: As President Trump’s own FBI director warns that Russians are planning to try to undermine American democracy in the next presidential election, Republican lawmakers led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) are blocking bills aimed at blocking foreign hackers from states’ voting systems.
Why? Republicans have policy objections to the legislation, but it seems clear that politics is at the forefront of McConnell’s decision-making. Specifically, the politics of pleasing Trump.
Trump is so sensitive to findings that Russians tried to help him win in 2016 that a Cabinet secretary was warned against briefing him on it. He’s repeatedly sided with Russian President Vladimir Putin over his own intelligence community about whether Russians interfered. He’s said he might accept foreign help in his 2020 reelection. And last month, he made light of it all when he mock-scolded Putin in front of cameras. “Don’t meddle in the election,” he said, waving a finger and wearing a smile.
That puts McConnell in a tough spot: Pass legislation, which election security experts say is needed, and risk sparking the president’s ire, or block the legislation — and risk increased Russia election interference and public ridicule.

Extract 2: The problem with all this is that Trump’s own top intelligence officials say Russia is definitely trying to interfere in 2020 like it did in 2016. “The Russians are absolutely intent on trying to interfere with our elections,” FBI Director Christopher A. Wray testified to the Senate last week.
A bipartisan Senate report released last week found that Russians tried to hack into election systems in all 50 states in 2016. The report by former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III said the FBI believed that in 2018, Russians “successfully gain[ed] access to the network of at least one Florida county government.”
And Mueller, arguably the premier expert on how Russia interfered in the 2016 election after leading a nearly two-year investigation on it, warned in his testimony last week to Congress that Russians are trying to meddle again “as we sit” here.

Could Mitch be putting American elections at risk so he can save taxes for his donors by keeping Trump happy enough to pass related bills?

Could Mitch McConnell be putting American elections at risk so he can make more money through bribes to get stuff passed (something he seems to be doing WITH his wife!)?

Mitch McConnell DID shutdown an idea that would increase election participation by American Citizens in thier elections that had nothing to do with the unsecured electronic machines (more votes/participation in a Democracy is the lifeblood of a democracy)

What Fox News will say is that Mitch McConnell has always opposed Federal "takeover" of election machines. If that were true why block a bill to make election day a public holiday? Also, why aren't alternative being offered such as setting up specialized internet hacking protection agencies in every state by Federal order. That way there would be more money in security, with guidelines from the experts, and less federal involvement. Why? Because foreign interference in our elections is a real threat. The lack of concern over this threat is a clear giveaway of the intent of these politicians and pundits, i.e. they are seeking to help rump, at the cost of the Nation, to benefit themselves and their donors/employers.

Media Matters: Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett defends Sen. Mitch McConnell obstructing election security bills Jarrett: "Mitch McConnell opposed a federal takeover of all elections because he's always done that. He knows that states are better equipped to manage their own elections"

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): You don't see this every day -- an op-ed in The Washington Post claiming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is a Russian asset.
[BEGIN CLIP]
MITCH MCCONNELL (SENATE MAJORITY LEADER): These people have worn out the volume knob so badly that they have nothing left but the most unhinged smears. ... Welcome to modern-day McCarthyism.
[END CLIP]
...
KILMEADE: Gregg, Mitch McConnell took this for a weekend, absorbed it, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and he was ripping yesterday. What's he talking about?
GREGG JARRETT (FOX NEWS LEGAL ANALYST): Well, it's offensive and reckless to accuse Mitch McConnell, of all people, of being a Russian asset. You're essentially claiming he's committing treason, which is a death penalty offense. The article that prompted it all by Dana Milbank and The Washington Post was bereft of relevant facts. Mitch McConnell opposed a federal takeover of all elections because he's always done that. He knows that states are better equipped to manage their own elections. And he had already allocated to the states, $380 million to secure it. The other bill that he opposed was clearly unconstitutional, that campaigns would have to report every conversation with any Canadian or French individual, or a Russian, that's a violation of the First Amendment.

CNN highlights a whole bunch of election measures that would make it easier for the American people to vote that the Republicans and Mitch McConnell have opposed, further solidifying the case of putting America at risk and attacking her democracy for personal profit, i.e. treason.

Media Matters: CNN highlights assault on voting rights after McConnell says making voting easier is "a power grab" John Avlon: "Could it be that McConnell doesn't want more people to vote because he sees increased participation as a Democratic plot?"

JOHN BERMAN (CO-HOST): Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is facing Democratic backlash after criticizing a House proposal to make Election Day a federal holiday. CNN senior political analyst John Avlon has our reality check.
JOHN AVLON (CNN POLITICAL ANALYST): If politicians can agree on one thing, it's usually that it's important to go out and vote. That's why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell drew fire and fury for mocking a House bill designed to open up our elections and increase voter participation.
[BEGIN CLIP]
MITCH MCCONNELL (SEN. MAJORITY LEADER): Speaker Pelosi and her colleagues are advertising it as a package of urgent measures to save American democracy. A power grab that's smelling more and more like exactly what it is.
[END CLIP]
AVLON: Election Day is a power grab, but not like blocking a vote on a Supreme Court nominee. It's a power grab by the people to hold their politicians accountable. And this is often an uphill battle because of the obstacles intentionally put in their way. These range from the rigged system of redistricting, to rollback of the Voting Rights Act, to archaic rules that tamp down turnout. And that's why the House bill seeks to make election day a federal holiday so more people can go out and vote. But McConnell really doesn't dig this idea.
[BEGIN CLIP]
MCCONNELL: A new, paid holiday for government workers. Just what America needs, another paid holiday and a bunch of government --
[END CLIP]
AVLON: OK. So two things. First, state workers in McConnell's native Kentucky already get presidential election days off. Second, this comes right after McConnell presided over the longest shutdown in government [in] American history, which left hundreds of thousands without pay for weeks. But could it be that McConnell doesn't want more people to vote because he sees increased participation as a Democratic plot? Well, it reminds me of an old Chris Rock line, quote, "They don't want you to vote. If they did we wouldn't vote on a Tuesday in November. You ever throw a party on a Tuesday? No. Because no one would come." So why else would Chicago hold its mayoral elections in freezing February? Or why would Georgia close its polls at 7 p.m. and Kentucky at 6 when many folks are just getting off work?
Spoiler alert: It's about [trying] to make turnout smaller, more predictable, and more dependent upon hard partisans, which only further polarizes our politics. Now, you might be asking, why do we vote on Tuesday? Not a crazy question. It was from when farmers needed to take a day to take their horse and wagon into town and back and no one wanted to travel on the Sabbath. Today, those reasons don't really apply. This House bill includes plenty of other changes, like outlawing the purging of voter rolls, killing gerrymandering by requiring independent redistricting commissions, and automatic voter registration. Now McConnell is calling this the, quote, "Democratic Politician Protection Act."
...
While McConnell has led Republicans in the Senate, there has been a steady erosion of voting rights. According to the Brennan Center, since 2010, no fewer than 25 states have put in place new voting restrictions. We should be making it easier for citizens to vote, not harder. And it shouldn't be a partisan issue. Ronald Reagan railed against redistricting, calling the right to vote, quote, "the crown jewel of American liberties." So bottom line folks: More voting not less is good for America. Even Republicans. And that's your reality check.

Of course, lying and covering for Republican politicians is what Fox News is designed to do;

Media Matters: Fox & Friends hosts allow Sen. Mitch McConnell to lie about why he blocked Merrick Garland's Supreme Court nomination McConnell: "The precedent ... back in 2016 when I made the decision not to fill the vacancy during the middle of a presidential election was who controlled the Senate"

DAN BONGINO (GUEST CO-HOST): Senator, you had your legacy on judges, with President Trump, is going to be terrific getting constitutional judges appointed to the court. If another seat opens on the Supreme Court, are you going to push that through?
SEN. MITCH MCCONNELL (R-KY): Absolutely. You know, the precedent that people ignored back in 2016 when I made the decision not to fill the vacancy during the middle of a presidential election was who controlled the Senate.
BONGINO: That's right.
MCCONNELL: You have to go back to 1888 to find the last time a Senate of a different party from the president confirmed a vacancy to the Supreme Court that occurred during the presidential election. Makes sense. We will still control the Senate next year. If there were to be a vacancy, of course we would fill it.

This treasonous behavior has earned him the nickname "Moscow Mitch" from conservative commentators from the pre-Trump era because of his ridiculous willingness to let Russia control American elections because his leader wants him to (a normal Republican behavior, in my opinion).

5. An Outline Of Modern Right Wing Terrorism (Denied By Fox News & The GOP) By David Neiwert

Yet another attack from a person influenced by right wing supremacy popularized by the GOP, Fox News and Trump (in that order). This post is just to mark yet another shooting caused by the GOP compared to the one or two by "liberals" who were angry at the GOP for killing people by cutting healthcare (given that most killings are caused by continuous and random demonizations by the GOP who know what they are doing, its amazing the GOP managed to make it look like it is the Dems who are the trouble makers... couldn't have done it alone). That's not how the GOP plays it and there is no media to take them down for thier crimes. So things keep going in favor of the Real Al Qaeda. Here is the proof of this latest shooting being a right winger probably influenced by Trump who was influenced by Fox News and the GOP.

Gilroy Garlic Festival gunman referred to 'Might is Right' manifesto before shootingSantino William Legan used an AK-47-style rifle he bought legally in Nevada to kill three and wound a dozen more.

GILROY, Calif. — The gunman who killed three people and wounded a dozen more at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California was an angry 19-year-old who had recently waded into the world of white supremacy.
Santino William Legan, who was shot dead by police Sunday before he could do more damage, posted online about an 1890 racist manifesto, “Might is Right or The Survival of the Fittest,” NBC News confirmed.
“Read Might is Right by Ragnar Redbeard,” Legan posted on his Instagram page. He then used a slurs against mixed-race people and misogynistic descriptions of white Silicon Valley workers, complaining about "hordes" of them "overcrowding" towns.
Redbeard, which was a pseudonym, argued that only strength and violence determined what is morally right. The work, which is filled with misogynistic and anti-Semitic rhetoric, is a staple among neo-Nazis and white supremacists on extremist sites.
And the phrase “might is right” is often posted as a sort of motto or catchphrase indicating white supremacy on neo-Nazi extremist forums.
Legan was also apparently no fan of the festival, a three-day food fair that began in 1979 to celebrate the local garlic industry — and which was in walking distance from his home on a tree-lined street in Gilroy.
“Ayyy garlic festival time,” his post read. “Come get wasted on overpriced s---.”
Below that was a post from someone named futboieden, which read “when you get too wasted and accidentally shoot up the festival.”

Trump Can Be Charged As A Traitor AFTER He Leaves Office

A Republican, who is probably so uninformed because he watches Fox News, got Mueller to say something valuable on video, i.e. that while Mueller was legally bound from indicting a President while still in office (essentially placing the President above the law which should be illegal in and of itself as its unAmerican... what if the President murders someone or many people... he can't be indicted till he leaves office?), once Trump leaves the office of the President (which is inevitable) he CAN be charged with obstruction for justice in the Russia investigation. In other words, Trump can be charged with interfering in an investigation that affects our national security, i.e. Trump is a traitor.

Mueller Says Trump Wasn’t Exonerated, Could Be Charged After Leaving Office: A Closer Look

At approximately 14 minutes into the audio you see some clueless Republican confirm - twice - that Trump can be indicted once he leave office which means, at maximum, Trump is indicted by 2024;

The double check;

President Trump

Note: Technically I believe any Republican that knows what their party did, and is still doing, and supports their party IS a traitor. Fortunately we live in an age of lie detection machines so its possible to clean up our nation of our enemies/terrorists/traitors. Remember, GOP is the real Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda/GOP attacked us on 9/11 and then made us kill millions of innocent people. They should pay for what they have done at least as much as the innocent colored people in Afghanistan and Iraq that we murdered to take revenge on the 19 brown Saudis who allegedly did 9/11.

Republicans are trying to condemn Trump for his racist tweets without actually using the word racist as that's their age old party strategy that Trump is ruining for them by being so openly racist. But a Republican's bread and butter is decisive strategy of racism so they stick with their war plan of attacking American citizens for status and money.
