I heard Bill O Reilly claim that Muslims don't read their scriptures & have no idea what's in it (which is true to some degree, interestingly enough, but not in the way Traitor O Reilly intends). Clearly, Bill believes that not only do Christians read thier scripture (probably in response to my observation that they didn't read thier scriptures, something he has done consistently, to my irritation) but they also are the true followers of the truth. After a close look at the actions of Christians and their scripture, I have to agree with Bill. America is a Christian nation and the Constitution is an impediment to the Christians version of Sharia Law being implemented in the land, which the GOP is trying very hard to do.

Notice how certain verses authorizing followers of the Bible's "God" to kill indiscriminately seem to manifest themselves as cultural behavior throughout the centuries;
Manifest destiny was the belief that America was given to the white immigrants & their slaves by God. Of course, the land wasn't empty. There were other people around but they were defined as "savages" thus not having the same rights as the white immigrants who called themselves "civilized" (these are normal demonization tactics which Christians - especially as a white religion - have employed since the beginning). Thus the land had to be cleared of it's "weeds" so it could become habitable. Their religion gave them blatant permission to continue through their religious interpreters or maybe through a thorough reading by the masses (there was a time when the Bible was almost the only book around). We like to think ourselves superior to the Muslims because of thier lack of free speech, which is fine to some degree. Where it falls apart is when someone think being Christian is being better than a Muslim. I would like to point out that Free Speech is a Constitutional thing and not a religious freedom. IN Christianity there is a very strict law for unpermitted free speech. It's called "blasphemy" and the penalty is death;

Notice that slavery is a religious thing and that's why Americans not only kept slaves for at least 2/3rds of its history (being a the last western nation to even abandon slavery and even then after a hard fought war by the slave owners), but it's richest citizens are busy structuring the economy of the country around the idea of creating a slave like working class. This too is a very Christian thing to do. Here are some related verses;
Ephesians 6:5 - Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.
Anyone notice how the much celebrated "Southern Work Ethic" is basically just a form of slavery? Thier politicians are even trying to reverse working conditions to the age of slavery with it's "no minimum wage" policies by calling it the free market. Yes, it was the "free market" - a market with ABSOLUTELY no laws and regulations - that allowed slavers to kidnap people and put them on thier plantations. That's what the GOP's politicians want.
Slavery was Christian Free Market Capitalism at its finest. The fact that the market isn't free as it would assume complete mobility of source, i.e. people would need to have the ability to easily move to a forest on the other side of the plant if they needed to - or even if they had the ability to leave one part of the country for another without any financial or personal emotional cost - all of these make the labor market sticky and thus not at all free in any sense of the word. Add to this the fact that Christians of this nation were kidnapping people to keep them as slaves giving the labor market even less freedom than it currently has (though the conservatives are working on bringing more freedom into our labor markets) and the labor market becomes more and more like this, i.e. it moves from more citizen worker freedom to less citizen worker freedom.

1 Timothy 6:1-2 - Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them.
Keep in mind that slaves, by definition, have no freedom of choice or movement bu thier owners have COMPLETE choice in thier actions towards the slaves. No laws and regulations can be very profitable for a predator such as a wolf having it's fill of unregulated & unwatched sheep.
As the cost of living get higher, as people have to work more and more hours to scratch a living, the normal citizens of the United States (a Christian nation) are returning to a more free version of the slavery economic model but with some constitutional freedoms embedded in them, such as the right to revolt and have a revolution. The conservatives are working hard at returning the country to the Christian version of the labor market with no minimum wage and no regulations thus making it possible - eventually, as culture deteriorates over time - to keep their labor as the did in the old days when there was less law and regulation;
Leviticus 25:44-46 - However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.
Interestingly enough, the GOP and the American media (reflecting what citizens think is important) ignore all the evidence of better lives for the citizens of other white and formerly Christian nations in Europe who have not only increased their minimum wage over the decades to reflect increases in living costs but also provide more and more freedom to their citizens to pursue thier lives (while the freedom the GOP seeks to give is only to corporations so they can abuse other citizens with greater and greater freedom, but that is the Christian way). The most fascinating thing is that Constitutional behavior with citizen rights seems have have found fertile ground in Europe and not in America where it was given birth to. It makes sense in a way, the Founding Fathers were European immigrants and in them emerged the end point of European political development with the writing of the Constitution. America however is a Christian nation and while Europe become a Constitutional nation with citizens having more precedence than the rich how could - with no laws - own slaves in America we once again serve the rich, reducing laws and regulations in accordance with the bible giving less and less right sto our citizens and more to our "royalty" so that eventually our royalty can keep people more and more like serfs. Maybe one day, in a few decades, slavery will return. That would be the fruition of conservative christian capitalist economics where everything, including people is just an economic resource to be exploited. (note: IN economics terms what the conservatives are endorsing is called "Robber Baron Capitalism" which is just a fancy and scientific way of saying exploiting labor more and more towards the no law and regulation state of slavery).
Note: These slavery like laws aren't a coincidence. Notice how in favor of franchises owned by the royalty such as Republicans who own franchises and pass laws (or don't pass the laws to keep income constant with inflation) to make their labor cheaper... what else would former slaves owners support? More rights for regular people or less? A true conflict of interest in term of modern law but from a Christian standpoint it's simply biblical law.
